CONTRIBUTION TO ROMA POPULATION INTEGRATION

On the occasion of celebration of January 14 on the day of St. Vasilije Veliki, in our local community known as VASILICA and also the first day of Serbian new year and one of the most recognizable Roma celebrations in Serbia, under the sponsorship of Palilula Municipality, Dragan Osmanovic, coordinator for Roma issues in Palilula Municipality and Bojan Zenulovic from the Centre for active communication, gave 150 new year gifts to Roma children. Palilula Municipality has been working for 4 year actively and responsibly on the Roma population integration into our society.

With the opening of the Office and the nomination of coordinator for Roma issues in the Municipality of Palilula, according to the PhD Igor Novakovic, it will all help in the realization of determined strategic objectives that were set in this organization of City of Nis local self government; on the improving of population health protection, education of Roma people and solving problems of habitation, distinguishing prejudices during employment and discrimination no matter on which basis.

With the organization `Ljubi bliznjeg svog` new year gifts were provided for the youngest municipal residents and the pupils of Palilula elementary schools and educational institutions received also their presents.
